Communication & Conflict mitigation- International Alert- UNHCR
MAP was selected by International Alert to jointly develop the curriculum, coordinate and deliver training courses on “Conflict Mitigation, Stress Management and Communication Skills” in all regions of Lebanon – Beirut/Mount Lebanon, South, North and Bekaa. The trainings were addressed to the staff of Primary Health Care centers (nurses, receptionists, administrators and social workers), especially the ones who work with Syrian refugees, and aim to help reduce tensions related to the refugee humanitarian crisis.
Each course was three days long spread across three consecutive weeks, and was followed by a one-day evaluation and reflection session, which took place few months after the training. All four courses were held between December 2014 and April 2015.
This project was led by the Ministry of Public Health and implemented by UNHCR in partnership with the World Health organization, UNICEF and International Relief and Development.
