Media, Peace & Human Rights

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Information, in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Rule of Law Program Middle East and North Africa, and in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut (UNIC Beirut), Media Association for Peace (MAP) organized its second annual and first Regional Conference on Media, Peace and Human Rights: The Role of Media in Enhancing Freedom of Expression, Minorities’ rights and Gender Equality for Peacebuilding in the MENA Region.

The conference was held on Monday, November 27 at Crowne Plaza, Hamra, Beirut from 9:00am until 6:00pm.

Media, Peace and Human Rights Regional Conference 2017 gathered 13 speakers from Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain and Lebanon, in addition to the keynote speaker, pioneer of Peace Journalism, Dr. Jake Lynch. Find here his speech on Peace Journalism.

More than 100 participants attended from media, academia and civil society fields.
